During this fast-faced, moderated panel discussion you’ll hear from an attorney, engineer and insurance professional about when and how to use their services.  During the session we will explore how to best communicate, set expectations, address problems, control costs and establish a working partnership that will serve you and the communities you manage for years to come.

Speakers:  Craig Nuss, Devon Schad, Stanley Stoll

Speaker Bio: Craig Nuss

Craig S. Nuss  is a Colorado native.  He obtained a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1982. He graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1988. Craig begin his legal career in 1989 with a large Denver insurance defense firm focusing on construction defect and personal injury claims. He eventually started his own firm in 1996, where he continued representing builders and subcontractors in construction defect cases. 

Since 1989, Craig has handled more than 70 civil jury trials in Colorado state and federal courts. He has taught many continuing legal education courses to fellow attorneys concerning insurance law and trial tactics. 

Craig has Martindale-Hubbell’s top Preeminent® AV rating and has been listed to Colorado Super Lawyers® since 2007. In 2003, Craig become a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only, international trial lawyer organization. 

In 2012, Craig joined Sullan2, Sandgrund, Perczak & Nuss, P.C. as a principal, and joined Burg Simpson in January of 2014.  

Craig has presented seminars for the National Business Institute, Colorado Claims Association and has been a frequent lecturer for the Community Associations Institute He also held past teaching positions with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. He has also presented continuing education courses approved by Florida Regulatory Council of Community Association Managers, CAMICB and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies for community association managers over the last 4 years.  

Speaker Bio: Devon Schad

Devon Schad graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and has been licensed in insurance since 2003.  After serving more than a decade as a non-profit Development Director, Devon decided to join the family business, the Schad Agency.  Since taking the helm, Devon has been awarded with numerous honors, from District Agency of the Year to being recognized as an Elite Commercial Agent bestowed on only a handful of Farmers Insurance agents across the United States. Devon is a CAI Educated Business Partner, Co-chair of Marketing and Membership of the CAI Rocky Mountain Chapter and teaches a CMCA course on Insurance.  The agency insures hundreds of community associations across Colorado and helps craft insurance article language for associations Covenant, Conditions & Restrictions.  Devon lives in Broomfield Colorado with his wife and two daughters and can be seen coaching soccer, hiking, skiing or enjoying some CU sports. 

Speaker Bio: Stanley Stoll

Mr. Stoll is a Principal Engineer and the CEO at Knott Laboratory. He has evaluated thousands of failed and damaged buildings from structural failures, building envelope failures, and fire investigations. Mr. Stoll is a board-certified diplomat forensic engineer through the National Academy of Forensic Engineers and has testified as an expert witness. Failure investigations have included construction defects, fires, vehicle impacts, soil movement, foundation repairs, wind, plumbing/freeze losses, snow/ice, and hail. Mr. Stoll is licensed in 10 states and has conducted investigations on the cause of structural failures throughout the US and routinely implemented repairs.  Mr. Stoll regularly presents at educational seminars to attorneys, contractors, insurance professionals, property managers and real estate agents.
