Transparency and Engagement - Virtual Class
Class Description:
In this panel-led course on Transparency and Engagement, a community association attorney will educate homeowners and community association managers on Colorado’s legal requirements for HOA transparency, while a property manager will offer advice on best practices and on the correlation between an HOA’s increased transparency and increased homeowner engagement. Finally, homeowner leaders will share their own proven strategies to get members more involved in their communities.

Speaker Bio: Christopher M. Drake
Christopher is a partner at Smith Jadin Johnson, PLLC, a law firm focused on providing wide-ranging counsel to community associations in Colorado and Minnesota, on everything from day-to-day operations and governance to disputed insurance claims and construction defect litigation. Christopher’s practice involves regularly advising associations on all aspects of operations, management, governance, and litigation, including governing document preparation, amendment, and interpretation, covenant enforcement, compliance with applicable state and federal laws, collections, homeowner dispute resolution, contract review and negotiation, insurance procurement and claims disputes through litigation, and construction defect litigation. Christopher’s practice is client-focused and he spends much of his time educating homeowners and community association managers on the above topics.
Speaker Bio: Jake Christenson
Jake has been involved in HOA Management, Property Management and Real Estate services since 2002 and served homeowners in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas and Colorado. Having worked for one of the nation’s largest HOA management companies, he learned the needs of those living in and serving HOAs. With this knowledge, and his passion for creating a better experience, he founded RowCal, a full-service, all-in-one property management company. Jake is the CEO and Owner of BSR Communities in Colorado Springs, which offers comprehensive community association management, including the latest technological advances tailored to solve the complex issues facing today’s communities.
